Travel

Airports

London is served by five airports: Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW), Stansted (STN), City (LCY) and Luton (LTN). As each provides a destination for different routes and carriers, choosing the most convenient depends on the point of embarkation. For public transport into central London, the following options are available:

Heathrow – Heathrow Express to Paddington rail and tube station, or the Piccadilly tube line.
Gatwick – Gatwick Express to Victoria rail and tube station.
Stansted – Stansted Express to Liverpool Street rail and tube station.
City – Docklands Light Railway (DLR) links to tube and rail stations.
Luton – take shuttle bus to Luton Airport Parkway and then any rail services to St. Pancras International, Farringdon, or Blackfriars.

The conference location is well served by local public transport. To plan journeys, visit Transport for London.

Room Directions

From Strand Reception: Enter the campus via the Strand Building main entrance. If you are not registered for the conference then you will need to go to reception to sign in. N.B. You must have booked a ticket for each screening/the exhibition in advance or registered for the conference to be allowed entry to the campus buildings. There will be ‘bus stop’ signs marked Besides the Screen to direct you to the various events, but detailed directions are provided below.

Conference: K4U.12

Once you have signed in, go through the barriers and along the corridor going straight ahead (this will take you into the King’s building). Continue along the corridor until you reach the Great Hall on your left. Take the lifts after the Great Hall to level 4, turn right out of the lifts and take the stairs on your left leading to the upper mezzanine, to the left of the Careers Office. Go through the door and turn left, K4U.12 is at the end of the corridor.

Screenings: K-1.56

Please note that K-1.56 is on the lower ground floor of the King’s Building. Once you have signed in, go through the barriers and down the stairs on the left – roughly opposite the elevators. Go down one flight and then exit the stairwell on the left. Proceed straight ahead down the ramp – you are now entering the King’s building (indicated by a large red circle on the floor). Just after this, turn left down a small corridor that takes you to K-1.56.

Exhibition: Inigo Rooms

Once you have signed in, go through the barriers and along the corridor going straight ahead (this will take you into the King’s building). Continue along the corridor until you reach the Great Hall on your left and the Foyer on your right. Turn right into the Foyer and exit via the doors on the left hand side (adjacent to the men’s toilets). Then proceed across the Quad and into Somerset House East Wing. Go through the doorway directly in front of you (there is no need to go to the reception desk on the right) and go down one flight of stairs. Go down one flight of stairs and then proceed through the door directly in front of you.
